Review: My Layered Lacing
February 24, 2011 at 17:11 | Posted in ALEX Toys, All About ALEX, Little Hands, Reviews | Leave a commentTags: ALEX Toys, Family
Katie over at Katies Nesting Spot reviewed quite a few ALEX Toys. Here’s an excerpt from her review on our Lacing Activities products:
This is an activity you can get years of fun out of. These are great for fine motor skills and getting those little fingers nimble and ready for writing.
I have to say I love the foam lacing shapes. I wish I’d purchased these for her before. I like them a lot better than the wooden or cardboard lacing shapes I was more familiar with.
The foam has a little give in it. As toddler hands push and pull on it, it can move a little and sometimes that has enabled my daughter to be able to get the lace through. The pliable nature of the foam makes this a more enjoyable activity for her and I’m not worried about things tearing as it snaps back into place. This product, and many others also by ALEX Toys has also won the National Parenting Center’s Seal of Approval.

Mommies With Style: Toy Fair 2010

The blog Mommies With Style just posted about the 2010 NYC Toy Fair. We’re happy to report that they enjoyed the ALEX booth!
“ALEX Toys had an impressive amount of new products. Their Ready, Set, Go Trike is a tricycle that grows with your child, from older baby to preschooler. Comes in red and pink. While their trampoline isn’t new (there’s younger child size and a older child size), it was terrific and very sturdy. I loved their many craft kits – especially the Color My Bag line. They’ve even got Shrinky Dinks!–Since ALEX Toys had so many fabulous products, check out my Whrrl Slideshow of ALEX Toys.”

Blog Review: First Pops & First Snaps
November 18, 2009 at 14:44 | Posted in ALEX Toys, All About ALEX, Babies | 1 CommentTags: ALEX Toys, Family
Karie at The Five Fish blog posted a great review of the ALEX First Pops and First Snaps! Her twin toddlers had a great time with both products.
Read what mom Karie had to say:
“The learning for the twins is so important because they were born premature. While they were full grown preemies born at 36weeks, they are still nonetheless premature kids who have the adjusted age and so some skills are slower to them than other children. Such as the fine motor skills.
The First Pops and First Snaps are perfect for this because they have to really concentrate on hooking the pieces together.”
You’re going to love the great photos from her blog! Read the rest of the review here: http://www.thefivefish.com/2009/11/gifts-for-kids-alex-toys-first-pops.html

Recently Cindy from SkiptoMyLou.org wrote a wonderful review of the ALEX Toys Sew Fun Sewing Machine. The photos of Cindy, her husband, and her children enjoying the Sew Fun Sewing Machine are great. Last week we posted about how dads can get into arts and crafts fun. This week, take time as a family to engage in some family fun. It may be difficult at first to find a quiet moment but if you make this a regular part of your routine soon it will be strange not to have it.
Ideas for Family Fun Time:
-Implement a weekly game night!
-Laugh over silly memories while creating a family scrapbook: http://www.alextoys.com/product/132736/106/_/My_Scrapbook
-Winter is almost here. How about embroider, weave or needlepoint together in front of a cozy fire?: http://www.alextoys.com/product/132740/395F/_/Simply_Needlepoint_-_Flower
