What a Fine Day for Croquet!
August 23, 2011 at 16:30 | Posted in ALEX Toys, Let's Play, Outside Play, Play@Home Mom | 1 CommentIt was beautiful outside today and we decided to take advantage and play some croquet! Now this wasn’t just any old game of croquet… it was adorable Jungle Croquet by ALEX! With kid-sized mallets, silly jungle critters and wooden construction, this croquet set is so much cuter than the set my grandparents have.
Setting up the stakes was so much fun for Lori! She loved finding the cute jungle animals on each stake and putting the pin through the holes and into the grass.
She also really enjoyed hitting the ball though the stakes in numerical order. The activity encouraged her to count her numbers out loud and in order.
I already know that Jungle Croquet will be the toy that we break out at our next cookout or backyard party. It comes with 4 wooden mallets and balls and I am confident it will go over well with a crowd. As Lori gets a little older (and a little more coordinated), this will certainly be played with more and more!
Have your kids ever played croquet before? Do you think they would enjoy a day with croquet?
Here are a few reasons why we love this product:
- Encourages counting and going in order
- Set-up is easy; kids can do it themselves. Easy cleanup too!
- Great for a group of kids to play together!
